I started my Wet Dreams adventure in the retail shop in 2021.
I was blessed to experience a Pork Chop dinner from the fire pan of Gordon Sanders on the Grand Canyon. That's gonna be a hard meal to beat. There's still time.
I moved to Grand Junction Colorado From Idaho the fall of 2018 in search of adventure and self discovery. I have found both here.
I was Raised in McCall, Idaho. It was all hillbillies and hippies in the 70's 80's and 90's. Growing up in the mountains certainly shaped my outdoor loving spirit.
I have taken a few beautiful river trips in my life but none more meaningful or transformative than my Bright Angel hike down to the boats below. The river trip and first big swim (Baptism) that followed would adjust my external and internal trajectory. It was the perspective changer I had been searching for in all my wanderings. The Grand Canyon still calls me to return. I will see her again.
My favorite camp chore?... I'd have to say selecting and settling up my personal sleep area. Finding the closest possible spot to the rivers music. It along with the rest of the "on river" experiences remind my primal self that there is more to me. It wakes up the most officiant and powerful parts of me. Personal skills that are largely unseen and unappreciated in the city's daily life are most celebrated and honored on the river and beside it.
My longest river trip was most certainly my second Grand Canyon float in 2019. After the long preparation, drive, and hike down I was on river for 18 days. I am missing the first 6 to 8 days of this trip experience. Going on a full trip has been a strong part of my motivation the last 6 years.
My favorite Groover location... lol Well to date the spot at travertine falls camp on the Grand Canyon. Looking around myself and feeling like I was going potty in Jurassic Park was pretty badass.
You know you work at a river store when?... I see all other outdoor sales establishments as " The other guys". lol Now that I'm in the sewing house, I tear gear apart in my mind and want to make it myself. Most of all working for a river store has fed my somewhat problematic gear habit.
I own 3 tambourines and several drums. I also love to sing on the river and off.
My dream trip right now is still the full Grand float. I hope I am able to experience many more rivers with what remains of my life.
One thing I never forget on trips.... My bravery and stubbornness. both come in very handy no matter what challenges arise.
