Dragonfly Raft Harness is an economical solution designed for lighter rafts going on fishing trips or day floats with a weight under 340 lbs.
For reference a 14' raft with an aluminum four bay frame and miscellaneous gear is shown as an example weighing approximately 340 lbs. In general a 14' raft could weigh between 115 - 135 lbs and a frame between 40 - 60 lbs. That still leaves room for some miscellaneous gear.
This premium-quality accessory works by connecting with the winch on your raft trailer. The Dragonfly Raft Harness is designed to be versatile and work with a wide array of raft configurations allowing a single person to load a raft on a trailer by themselves. This harness allows adventures to keep the action moving even if they are going solo.
Dragonfly Raft Harness is comprised of 1" nylon straps; two red wing straps, and the new black 2.0 load strap with sewn in o-ring: 22 kn 7075 aluminum, two carabiners: 12 kn aluminum quick link, and a half-mesh carrying bag with drawstring.
Care, Maintenance and Intended use of the Dragonfly Raft Harness.
Keep it clean, dry, and out of the sun when not in use and to never take the condition of your equipment for granted.
Nylon webbing is known for its high tensile strength and durability. However, water absorption can decrease the strength of nylon web slings by as much as 10-15%. It is recommended to attach the Dragonfly Raft Harness to a raft when it is out of water or limit the amount of time the Dragonfly Raft Harness is in water. A dry harness is the strongest harness. Keeping your Dragonfly Raft Harness away from the exposure to the sun, UV light, for extended periods of time will also increase the lifetime of the harness.
It is recommended to limit or reduce the weight of your raft prior to using the Dragonfly Raft Harness to load your raft onto a trailer. Reduced raft weight will lower the possibility of overloading the harness and harness failure. Inspections pre and post use of the Dragonfly Raft Harness includes all webbing and supporting materials. Inspection should include a thorough look at every inch of harnesses and restraint devices for any damage to your webbing and load bearing stitches. The best way to ensure the safety and security of load-bearing nylon is to inspect it as often as you use it.
Do not use the Dragonfly Raft Harness in excess of your trailer’s capacity of the equipment and refer to trailer’s manufacture for specifications and limits.
