Sandra, who often goes by "Sandy," was raised in the Colorado mountains, where her childhood was defined by the outdoors and a close connection to nature. This early appreciation for the wilderness remains the cornerstone of her artistic vision. Her work primarily focuses on capturing the beauty of the American West, with a particular emphasis on the riparian corridors and deep canyons of the Colorado, Green, and San Juan rivers.
With over 35 years of experience, Sandy has cultivated a diverse skillset in oil painting, watercolor, and photography. Her painterly style seamlessly blends impressionistic techniques with realistic landscape art, a result of decades of self-guided study and exploration.
Sandy is an active member of the Grand County Plein Air group and frequently participates in regional plein air events and art shows. Her work is regularly showcased in galleries and shows throughout Colorado.
